Twilight Summer Ale from Deschutes Brewery.
Deschutes Brewery was founded in 1988 in Bend, Oregon, and makes close to 20 different craft style beers with only 7 varieties actually made year round including this writers favorite – Mirror Pond Ale. They are primarily available in the west coast, but are moving eastward with availability in Colorado, Minnesota, and Texas.
They also make three seasonal ales: Red Chair NWPA (Jan-May), Twilight Summer Ale (May-Sept), and Jubelale (Oct-Dec).
Red Chair is a Pale ale/IPA and Jubelale is a strong ale with both having alcohol levels above 6%.
The Twilight Summer Ale, which is available now, is a lighter ale with golden color to it. It has lots of flavor, but doesn’t have that heavy ale taste. The Twilight still has some pop to it with 5% alcohol level and 162 calories (per 12oz serving); however it was made for the light fare of summertime with grilling and outdoors in mind!
